Dartmoor National Park near Bovey Tracey

This beautiful mature Beech tree on The Teign valley, Devon had sadly become infected with a root based disease Ganoderma that meant it had become extremely unsafe. The Tree Officer had quickly condemned the tree and advised immediate removal due to the proximity to the road.

Ganoderma is a fungus that causes a wood-decaying infection that occurs through tree wounds. It attacks large roots and the base of the trunk but can extend up the trunk a few feet as well.

Lowering each section to avoid phone lines and roads. All equipment has been passed with a LOLA Certificate.

Carefully dismantling the tree, avoiding phone lines.
